Head-of-Household name index only.  Individual members of the household were not enumerated by name in 1840.

Although Clarion County formed in 1839, the 1840 U. S. Census did not include it.  Rather, households were enumerated in the parent counties' (Armstrong and Venango) townships.  Researchers must check the original documents instead of relying on data in a transcription.   Also, the original records contain demographic data of the household's residents that is not included here.
